Marvin the Paranoid Android is exactly that. He’s constantly depressed, as a result of being a prototype robot with GPP (Genuine People Personality). His brain is the size of a planet, which only makes him more bored and consequently depressed. He serves as help to Trillian and Zaphod and eventually meets Arthur and Ford on the spaceship Heart of Gold, accompanying them in their adventure.
